The Civil Police arrested this Tuesday (2), in Campo Grande (MS), a mother and son suspected of having ordered the death of businessman Gersino Rosa dos Santos, aged 43. The crime occurred in November last year at Shopping Popular, in Cuiabá, and left a second fatal victim.
The homicide, according to police chief Nilson Farias, responsible for the investigation, was motivated by revenge, after the son of the person being investigated was murdered in Cuiabá.
According to investigations, the family believed that the crime had been committed on Gersino’s orders and, therefore, they plotted revenge by hiring a hitman.
“We are here, in the city of Campo Grande (MS), where we came to arrest the perpetrators of the double homicide that occurred at Shopping Popular”, explained the police chief.
The gunman, Sílvio Júnior Peixoto, 26, was hired for R$10,000 to commit the crime. He was arrested by the Police on March 25th, in Uberlândia.
The crime took place on November 22, 2023 and, in the action, the gunman also accidentally killed the salesman Cleiton de Oliveira de Souza Paulino, aged 27.
The temporary arrest was ordered by the Police Investigation Unit of the Capital (Nipo) of Mato Grosso.
