The death of a 3-year-old child in an Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in Caruaru, Agreste, is investigated by the Civil Police.

The boy was admitted to the unit with some injuries to his body, according to information provided to police officers.

On Saturday (30), he died and the police opened an investigation to determine the causes.

The case is being investigated by the Homicide Police of the municipality, in the Agreste of the State.

“Other information may be made available after the facts are fully elucidated”, said a note sent by the police to Diario de Pernambuco, this Wednesday (3).

According to unofficial information, the boy was identified as João Miguel de Albuquerque.

His body was buried on Sunday (31), in Gravatá, in the same region.

There is information that the boy was with his grandfather’s ex-partner when he was left at the UPA.

The boy was reportedly unconscious when he entered the unit.

The UPA would have been informed that the boy was the victim of a fall from a wall.
