A video is circulating on social media showing a man trapped inside a swimming pool during the passage of an earthquake, measuring 7.2, along the east coast of Taiwan, this Wednesday (3/4).
According to local media reports, the tourist was swimming in the morning in the pool on the terrace of the Regent Taipei hotel, in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, when the earthquake hit the region.
In the images, it is possible to see that the water swings violently from one side to the other, splashing over the edge of the pool. Furthermore, the man tries to stabilize himself in the water. Despite the scare, no one was injured.

According to the Mirror Media website, the pool was closed after the incident. Hotel staff have reported that guests and staff are safe.
Strongest earthquake in 25 years
In total, the earthquake that hit the east coast of Taiwan left at least nine dead and 821 injured, according to an update from the Taiwanese national civil protection authority.
This phenomenon is the “strongest in the last 25 years”, according to the director of the Taipei Seismological Center, Wu Chien-fu. He explained that the earthquake hit the island “close to the earth and shallow”, being “felt throughout the country and on nearby islands”.
