Team of the corners will play against France, Spain and England; competition takes place from May 20th to June 5th, in Cyprus

France, Spain and England will be the opponents of the under-17 National Team in the group stage of this edition of the European Championship, which will take place from May 20th to June 5th, in Cyprus.

The quinas team was included in group D, with the losing finalist from the previous edition and the winners of the 2017 and 2014 editions, respectively. If Portugal advances to the quarter-finals of the competition, they know that they will face the first or second placed team in group C, which is made up of Italy, Poland, Slovakia and Sweden.

National Team performed perfect Elite Round. Geovany Quenda scored twice

João Santos’ men secured a place in the finals after an Elite Round with only victories, against the Republic of Ireland, Croatia and Germany. Already in the qualifying phase, the Portuguese team had won victories in matches against Albania, Montenegro and the Czech Republic.

This is the fifth consecutive participation for an under-17 European Championship, not forgetting that it already has two victories, in 2003 and 2016, in its history. In the last edition, Portugal was eliminated in the group stage.
