This afternoon, the crew at the Cascais Lifeguard Station rescued a 24-year-old recreational fisherman who, «allegedly, suffered an accidental fall from a cliff while practicing his activity, on Porto do Touro beach, in the municipality of Cascais», reports the National Maritime Authority.

The alert was given at around 5pm by fishermen who were in the area and who reported that «a person practicing recreational line fishing had suffered a fall». Crews from the Cascais Lifeguard Station were activated to the scene, as well as members of the Cascais Volunteer Firefighters, who, upon arrival at the scene, «they found that the victim, a 24-year-old man, had several injuries, and immediately rescued and transported him to the Cascais marina», where the Cascais Volunteer Firefighters were waiting, who assisted and transported the fisherman to a hospital unit.

The local command of the Cascais Maritime Police took charge of the incident.
