The increase of up to 10% is an “exceptional measure that is essential to guarantee the long-term sustainability not only of its business model and financial balance but also of the global supply chain, with its customers and suppliers”, explains the group company Semapa.

The Navigator Company announced this Wednesday that it will increase the prices of its tissue paper (toilet paper, napkins, kitchen rolls, hand towels, among others) by between 8% and 10% in all markets where it operates, for dispatches from May 2024, with the aim of mitigating the increase in production costs.

The company recalls that last week, a new pulp price was announced for May, which will be the highest price ever historically recorded in the sector, representing an additional increase of 10% compared to today’s price.

The Semapa group company says that this decision, “which is being communicated to its customers, was taken following the accelerated reversal of the cycle that has been accentuated since last August 2023, when a very significant increase in production costs, namely paper pulp, the main factor in the cost of tissue production”.

The international pulp price reference index (short fiber) has risen 65% since August 2023.

Navigator states that “this exceptional measure is essential to guarantee the long-term sustainability not only of its business model and financial balance but also of the global supply chain, with its customers and suppliers”.

The company promises that it will continue to “develop the business in partnership with its customers, reinforcing the value proposition in several dimensions such as the high quality of products, service and innovations in its products”.
