The Navigator Company announced that it will increase the prices of its tissue papers (toilet paper, napkins, kitchen rolls, hand towels, among others) by between 8 and 10% in all markets where it operates, with the aim of mitigating the increase of production costs.

The company explains that this decision was taken following the accelerated cycle reversal that has been accentuated since last August 2023, when a very significant increase in production costs began, particularly paper pulp, the main cost factor of tissue production.

Since August last year, the international pulp price reference index (short fiber) has risen 65% and, last week, a new pulp price for May was announced, which will be the highest price ever recorded historically in the sector , representing an additional increase of 10% compared to today’s price.

Navigator explains that this exceptional measure will apply to dispatches from May 2024 onwards, and that “it is essential to guarantee the long-term sustainability not only of its business model and financial balance but also of the global supply chain, together with of its customers and suppliers”.
