The 59-year-old man who fell from a roof in the town of Falagueiro, parish of Asseiceira, Tomar, on the 17th, ended up not being able to resist the serious injuries he suffered.

José Manuel de Jesus Cotovio, a construction businessman, was working on a roof when he fell from a height of approximately 2.5 m, suffering a head injury and chest injuries.

Upon arriving at the scene, the Constância firefighters, with the support of SIV – life support ambulance and VMER – Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle, managed to reverse the cardiorespiratory arrest in which the victim was.

José Cotovio was transported by ambulance to the Torres Novas hospital and from there he went by helicopter to the S. José hospital in Lisbon, where he died on the 22nd.

He was married and father of three children, including Filipe Cotovio, a player at Sport Club de Ferreira do Zêzere and previously at União de Tomar.

The funeral will take place on Friday, the 26th, at the Asseiceira cemetery after the funeral mass in the Pastorinhos chapel, at 5pm. The wake will take place at the Pastorinhos mortuary, starting at 11 am.
