A man indicted for nine homicides in Vila Velha was arrested, this Wednesday morning (24), in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, in the south of Espírito Santo. The 51-year-old individual was captured during Operation Estado Presente in the region.

According to the State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (Sesp), the man was arrested in the Valão neighborhood. In addition to the homicides in Vila Velha, investigations also indicate that he committed another murder in Cachoeiro, which resulted in his arrest.

Another individual, aged 24, was arrested in the Gilson Carone neighborhood for murder. During the operation, narcotics such as marijuana and cocaine were also seized, which is why he was also charged with drug trafficking.

Operation Present State in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim began this Wednesday morning (24). Through the Southern Regional Superintendency and the 7th Regional Police Station, the Civil Police carried out search and seizure warrants and arrest warrants for homicides and fugitives from justice.

In total, five fugitives were arrested in the action, which involved the participation of 15 police officers and the use of four operational vehicles, in addition to police officers from all specialized police stations. In addition to the two arrested for murder, three other men, aged 30, 46 and 63, were arrested in the Village da Luz, Santo Antônio and Paraíso neighborhoods, for crimes such as violence against women and robbery.

According to Sesp, during the night, the action continues with the overt part, with vehicles mobilized throughout the municipality.
