Two Portuguese people died and several were injured in an accident that involved two buses this Wednesday in the Walvis Bay area, in Namibia, the Secretary of State for Communities told Lusa.
José Cesário told Lusa that one of the buses was carrying 22 Portuguese tourists, with, in addition to the two fatalities, several injured people, the degree of severity of which he does not know.
The injured were transported to the local hospital and their families are being contacted by the Portuguese Embassy in Windhoek, he said.
According to the Secretary of State, there are people of various nationalities involved in the accident.
The group of Portuguese tourists, from the north of the country, traveled through a travel agency, added José Cesário, stressing that he has been monitoring the situation.
News of the accident, which occurred late Wednesday morning, was reported by CNN.
