The Civil Police indicted three people involved in the murder of lawyer Rodrigo Marinho Crespo, in February this year, in the center of Rio.

PM Leandro Machado was responsible for providing the cars used in the crime; Cezar Daniel Mondêgo de Souza monitored the victim; and Eduardo Sobreira Moraes followed in the lawyer’s footsteps, driving the car for Cezar while they monitored the movement of the lawyer victim before the murder.

The trio, who are in prison, are now waiting to see whether the Public Prosecutor’s Office will file a complaint with the court. The preventive detention of the accused was also requested by the Civil Police. The police are investigating whether there are others involved in the crime.

The police have not yet established the exact motivation for the crime, but agents suspect that the lawyer’s death is linked to the online betting sector.

In April, the police carried out search and seizure warrants against 9 people investigated in the investigation into the death of Rodrigo Marinho, among them Adilsinho, the current patron of Acadêmicos do Salgueiro.

The crime took place on February 26th of this year. Rodrigo Marinho Crespo was executed at around 5pm, on Avenida Marechal Câmara, in the Center, close to the OAB headquarters and in front of the office where he worked. An armed man wearing a cap came out of a white goal, called the lawyer by name, and fired more than 15 shots at him. Nothing was stolen.
