Ana Maria Braga cries after dog dies on flight: “Heartbreaking”

Ana Maria Braga cried at the death of her 5-year-old dog Joca, who died of cardiorespiratory arrest after air transport failures. The case gained notoriety in the media this week and moved the Globo presenter, who interviewed the animal’s owner live this Thursday (25).

The subject was treated with emotion by Ana Maria Braga at the beginning of Mais Você. She couldn’t contain herself when reading the post made by João Fantazzini Junior, who said goodbye to Joca. “It’s heartbreaking,” said the presenter before reading the text on Globo’s morning show.

Then, she interviewed João, who thanked Ana Maria for her words. She replied: “These are your words. They are yours and ours, from all of us who love animals, nature, and are sensitive. We know what it means to have the company of these friends, who I call children.”

João also had a crying crisis when detailing Joca’s death. The golden retriever dog died after being transported by Gol airline on a wrong flight. He only returned to São Paulo, already dead, more than 12 hours after the first boarding.

The family contacted the police, who registered the case as a crime of animal abuse. On the death certificate, the cause of death is listed as cardiorespiratory arrest to be clarified. Gol alleges technical failures, but João points out that there was negligence in handling the situation.

Ana Maria was outraged by the situation and spoke about the need for legislative regulation for the air transport of animals. She cried next to João and commented: “Only you will feel this pain, but we put ourselves in your shoes.”
