The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) released, this Wednesday (24), a panel that allows the consultation of maximum drug prices sold in the country. As a result, pharmacies, drugstores, laboratories, distributors and importers cannot charge values above those allowed by the Medicines Market Regulation Chamber (CMED).

Every month, Anvisa updates the panel with the aim of making available both the Maximum Consumer Price (PMC, ceiling price authorized for the retail trade of medicines), and the Maximum Sales Price to the Government (PMVG), which corresponds to the result of the application of a mandatory minimum discount in relation to the Factory Price (PF), which is the price ceiling at which a laboratory or distributor can sell a medicine on the Brazilian market.

Check out the PMC list at this link, and PMVC at this link, respectively.

How to report prices above those predicted by Anvisa

According to Anvisa, in case of non-compliance with the Price Adequacy Coefficient (CAP) standards, consumers can forward the complaint, accompanied by all supporting documents, to the Executive Secretariat of the CMED Medicines Market Regulation Chamber, as well as to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The complaint can be forwarded through Anvisa’s communication channels, through Contact Us and the Ombudsman.
