According to coordinator Ingred Aguiar, twenty seniors are participating in this first group, which will have activities once a month.

“The objective is to include them in the digital world and guide them about the dangers of social networks. It will help them to do research, be connected, be able to contact distant family members, there will be many benefits for them”, he highlighted Ingred.

SCFV psychologist, Fernanda Brito, spoke about the benefits of digital inclusion in the lives of the elderly.

“Our audience here are people aged 60+ and will have great benefits, such as improving socialization. They will be activating important brain areas with digital activity, via computer, that many did not have access to. On a psychic level, it could delay dementia. So, any activity that the elderly person is not used to doing tends to activate important brain areas”, observed the psychologist.

Dona Marilúcia Pedroso, 63 years old, spoke about being able to participate in the program.

“For me it is very important to be learning something new, so that we can occupy our minds and be included in the digital environment, because it is very important, we increasingly need to learn things to have active aging”, said the user .

“It is very gratifying to be able to offer this program to our elderly people, we realize that they are still very active and want to learn more and more. Being able to bring the benefits and warn about the harms is also very important”, he said. Celsa Brito, municipal secretary of Labor and Social Assistance.
