The subject was dealt with emotionally by Ana Maria Braga at the beginning of Mais Você. She did not hold back when showing the post made by João Fantazzini Junior, who said goodbye to Joca on social media. “It’s heartbreaking,” said the presenter before reading the text.

Then, she interviewed João, who thanked Ana Maria for her words. She replied: “These are your words. They are yours and ours, from all of us who love animals, nature, and are sensitive. We know what it means to have the company of these friends, who I call children.”

João also had crying spells when detailing what happened to Joca. The golden retriever dog died after being transported by Gol airline on a wrong flight. He only returned to São Paulo, already dead, more than 12 hours after the first boarding.
The family contacted the police, who registered the case as a crime of animal abuse. On the death certificate, the cause of death is stated as “cardiorespiratory arrest to be clarified”. Gol alleges technical failures, but João points out that there was negligence in handling the situation.

Ana Maria was outraged by the situation and spoke about the need for legislative regulation for the air transport of animals. She cried next to João and commented: “Only you will feel this pain, but we put ourselves in your shoes.”
