The 6th Regional Police Station presented data on cases involving homicide crimes in Amrec. The numbers refer to occurrences recorded this year in the 12 municipalities in the region. In total, from January until yesterday (April 24) there were 13 victims killed, divided into: Lauro Müller (01), Morro da Fumaça (01), Balneário Rincão (04), Criciúma (05) and Içara (02). Of these, nine police investigations were concluded and another four are still being investigated, which leaves the Civil Police of the Coal Region with around 70% of the cases resolved.

The rates are equal to the statewide rate, where 80% of homicides committed in Santa Catarina were solved. The data was released yesterday by the Civil Police of Santa Catarina and, according to Ulisses Gabriel, general delegate of the PCSC, the crimes that are taking place “are not forgotten”. “They are being clarified. We intended to reach a rate of 75 or 77% in 2024, which are the rates for Canada and the Netherlands, but this percentage was reached last year”, highlights Gabriel.

This Tuesday, the 23rd, an operation was carried out in Criciúma to capture those involved in the murder of Rafael Nunes Rosso, 37 years old. His body was found on February 24th floating in the shallow part of the Criciúma River, in the Paraíso neighborhood (lowland region). Three were arrested on suspicion of having beaten the victim to death. As a result, of the five homicides this year in the city, three have already been solved, that is, 60% of the cases.

CRIMES

On the same day, during the searches, two arrests were made, one for possession of weapons and the other for drug trafficking. These would be examples of occurrences that cause SC to have a 22% increase in flagrant situations. According to the PCSC, in the last week alone, arrests in the act occurred for the crimes of drug trafficking (63.89%), malicious reception (26.11%), association for drug trafficking (19.44%) and adulteration vehicle identification signal (13.89%), among others.
