Psychologist was killed inside her home, in Rio Grande do Norte

Reproduction/Urgent Brazil

The Civil Police arrested the main suspect of killing psychologist Fabiana Maia Veras, aged 42. The suspect is the husband of a patient of the victim and was arrested upon arriving at the condominium where she lived, in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte.

Images from security cameras captured the moment he was surprised by civil police officers, as he entered the luxury car. He was surrendered and taken to the police station.

The arrest was only possible thanks to internal images of the victim’s home and the testimony of witnesses, which meant that the police identified and arrested the suspect in less than 24 hours. The body of Fabiana Maia Veras was found gagged, tied and with marks of stab wounds inside her own property in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte.

On cameras, the accused appears arriving at Fabiana’s house, wearing a hood, a disposable mask to hide his face and gloves on his hands, as well as a bag. He rings the doorbell and the victim answers, greets him and they talk. The man enters the property, which is also used to treat patients. They talk for a while until they walk around the property and then disappear from the images when entering a room. He then flees the scene.

What the police seek to confirm is the relationship between suspect and victim. The main line of investigation is that the ex-partner was being seen by the psychologist, who would have given advice to the woman not to resume the relationship.
