In the images from the body camera of one of the agents’ uniforms, obtained by Estadão, it is possible to see the moment that police officers approach Andrade Filho, who was already with his mother, to ask him about the accident. “Where is he going?” says an agent.

When asked about the accident, Andrade Filho says he doesn’t remember exactly what happened. “We were leaving the party, we were going to my house to play pool. And out of nowhere a horrible accident happened,” he said. “I don’t remember anything anymore.”

The accident involving the Porsche at high speed, in addition to Viana’s death, resulted in the hospitalization of student Marcus Vinicius Rocha, aged 22, who He underwent a surgical procedure to remove his spleen.. He was in the car with Andrade Filho at the time of the accident.

While the military police speak to the driver to better understand the circumstances of the crash, the businessman’s mother insists on taking him to the hospital. “For the love of God, let me take him (sic) for a CT scan, girl,” she said. “If he has hit his head, every minute counts.”

After insistence, the police release Andrade Filho. “You can go,” said one of the agents. The mother then said that she would take him to Hospital São Luiz. The accident was recorded in the early hours of Easter Sunday, but Andrade Filho reported himself to the 30th Police District (Tatuapé), which is investigating the case, almost 40 hours after the occurrence, on April 1st – the same day that Viana was buried in Guarulhos, in Greater São Paulo.

In this ocasion, Andrade Filho’s defense denied that the client had fled the scene of the accident and stated that he was merely “protecting himself from lynching”.

According to a Military Police investigation, The officers who responded to the incident made the mistake of not taking the breathalyzer test in Andrade Filho after the accident. “Witnesses say that he had a slurred voice and a staggering walk,” said, on the 6th, delegate Carlos Henrique Ruiz, from the 5th Sectional Police Station (East).

The businessman had just left an “open bar” party (with drinks allowed) when he was involved in the accident. He was indicted for homicide (with possible intent), bodily injury – due to the injuries caused to the friend who was with him in the car – and escape from the scene of an accident.

With the conclusion of the investigation, it is up to the Public Ministry of the State of São Paulo (MP-SP) to decide whether to indict Andrade Filho for the three crimes, in addition to being able to agree or not with the new arrest request. O Porsche 911 Carrera GTS driven by Andrade Filho was traveling at 156 km/h shortly before the accident who killed Viana, according to a report from the Technical-Scientific Police. The speed represents more than triple the 50 km/h allowed for Avenida Salim Farah Maluf, the road where the accident occurred.
