A tourist from Rio Grande do Sul is one of the passengers who died in a tourist bus accident in Chile on Thursday night (25). The vehicle was on its way to San Pedro de Atacama.

The rollover occurred on the international route 27CH, which connects Paso Jama, on the border with Argentina, to the commune of San Pedro de Atacama, in Antofagasta, according to the website La Tercera.

The website also reports that a second woman did not resist and that the victim is also a Brazilian.

At least 40 passengers, in addition to two Brazilian drivers, were in the vehicle. The group is expected to arrive on Friday morning.

According to Grupo A Hora, around 25 people who were on the bus purchased the travel package at an agency in Lajeado.

The owner of the company DH Transportes, Diego Souto, told The Time that one of the victims was identified as Elenice Terezinha Mezzomo Preto, resident of David Canabarro.

“We are providing all support and support to passengers and their families. Even though the information is inconsistent due to the difficulty of contact, we have a guide and support team in Chile. The injured who were released are in a hotel in San Pedro de Atacama or in Calama”, he highlights.

Speaking to La Tercera, the police authority said that all the injured were taken to health centers, both in San Pedro de Atacama and in the city of Calama.
