Businessman Walfrido dos Mares Guia was moved when he spoke about his admiration for President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) during the inauguration of the Biomm factory, in Nova Limathis Friday (26).
“Look how many times this man fell and every time he got up. Today he is leading the country to get out of this situation of bellicosity between people who have hearts,” said Walfrido.
Former Minister of Tourism in the Lula government, Walfrido is one of the partners in the company that will manufacture insulin and participates in the Board of Directors of Biomm.
He talked about the company’s trajectory, citing difficulties in obtaining licenses and the challenges of maintaining a project during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We started with money from our partners, we bought the land, it took us 2 years to get the environmental license for a piece of land that used to be a eucalyptus plantation. Meanwhile, time is passing and interest of 9.3% per year is being paid. We built the factory in 3 years. But, to open it today, we had to receive the certificate of good practices from Anvisa, which took a long time. Anvisa is experiencing difficulties because it has a much smaller number of technicians than it needs to have and we waited two years to obtain this authorization”, said Walfrido.
“Arriving at this moment was like climbing the mountain with a boulder. You only see the sky, you don’t see the horizon. But by the time we get up there we see the horizon. And today we see the horizon”, said the Minas Gerais businessman.
The company Biomm has among its investors the Cedro Participações group, owned by businessman Lucas Kallas, and the Martins Mares Guia Group, owned by former minister Walfrido Mares Guias. The company will operate near Lagoa dos Ingleses, in the Alphaville condominium.
