The investigation included efforts by papilloscopists from the Civil Police and experts from the Scientific Police. Four days after the crime, on February 22, the GDE (Special Due Diligence Group) and the Umuarama homicide registry gathered enough information for the delegate responsible for the case to represent the Judiciary for the temporary arrest of EGDS, a 38-year-old man. old, who lived opposite the victim’s house.
As Brazilian legislation limits temporary arrest to a period of 30 days, but there is still a need for his arrest for the investigation to be successful, the request was extended for another 30 days.
More recently, with the conclusion of some Scientific Police reports, the Public Prosecutor’s Office was able to file a complaint against EGDS, for the crime of completed robbery (article 157, §3, item II, of the Penal Code – which carries a prison sentence of 20 ( twenty) to 30 (thirty) years, and a fine). Furthermore, he requested his preventive detention.
The complaint was received by the Judiciary, and the author’s preventive detention was ordered. Thus, EGDS remains arrested and responds to due legal process.
