The three men accused of shooting dead accountant Alexsander Silva Terêncio, 45, in Jardim Redentor, in Francewere acquitted on the afternoon of this Thursday, 25th, at the Franca Forum.
Maycon Fernando Oliveira, aged 34, Marcos Vinicius de Oliveira, aged 26, and Wendel Silva Braúlio, aged 24, were acquitted by the courts.
Maycon, identified as the shooter, was the first to be arrested. In his statement to the DIG (General Investigations Department), in April 2022, he said he had committed the act after receiving a promise to pay R$ 2,500 from the father of saint Juliano Melo da Silva, appointed as the mastermind of the crime and is on the run.
The three men denied the accusations in court, changing their versions regarding their first testimony in 2022.
According to prosecutor Odilon Nery Comodaro, the evidence collected during the investigation was insufficient for a conviction against the three accused. The lack of witnesses who could represent the case in court was one of the reasons.
The three men had been imprisoned since May 2022 and were released after the trial.
The prosecutor explained to the portal’s report GCN/Sampi about why the trial of pai de santo, identified as having ordered the crime, will take place separately. “When the decision was made that sent the case to trial by the Jury Court, only Juliano’s lawyer appealed the decision, and that is why the process had to be dismembered,” said Odilon.
Still according to the prosecutor, the pai de santo’s case was reevaluated at the São Paulo Court of Justice, and the decision given by the Franca Jury Court was upheld. “Soon his trial date will be set, even though he is on the run. The fact that you hired a lawyer is enough under the law for the process to continue without his presence”, added Odilon.
The crime
The murder took place around 9:30 am on May 11, 2021, in the victim’s office, on Avenida Moacir Vieira Coelho Neto, in Jardim Redentor.
Two men arrived at the location, which has several commercial establishments, on a motorcycle. A third party involved released fireworks to distract the population and, possibly, confuse them with the noise of the shots they would fire.
They then went up to the room where the accounting office is located and executed Alexsander with three shots to the face.
Alexsander Terêncio, 45, was an accountant, but it was in politics that he built a large circle of friends. For years he participated in the PT executive in Franca. He was also a parliamentary advisor to doctor Lavínio Camarin during his term as councilor in Franca, also for the PT. He was also part of the team of federal deputy Arlindo Chinaglia, from the same party.
