Pingo Doce has just filed a complaint with the Direção-Geral do Consumidor (DGC) and the Institute of Advertising Self-Regulation about Lidl’s recent advertising campaign, in which a price comparison is made between supermarkets, leaving a clarification of the same in its site.

“The campaign is misleading and with it Lidl seeks to demonstrate not only that it is the cheapest chain on the market but that it is at least 10%. This is not true and Pingo Doce was forced to intervene, on the one hand, the Institute of Advertising Self-Regulation (ARP), on the other hand the General Directorate of Consumer Affairs (DGC), to analyze the compliance of this campaign with the law, namely with the law that regulates comparative advertising”, it reads.

It seems that Pingo Doce is really determined to show that it will not stand idly by while Lidl claims the title of low price champion. And we watch the advertising dramas between supermarkets, while we delight in the news on the leaflets. At the end of the day, consumers only want one thing: fair prices and quality products. Therefore, while we navigate the uncertainty of which surface has the cheapest products, we leave our favorite products from Lidl and Pingo Doce as a suggestion for the next shopping cart, declaring a quality tie.
