IPL-17: CSK vs SRH | Gaikwad, Mitchell take Chennai to competitive total against Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sent into bat, Chennai Super Kings, riding on Ruturaj Gaikwad’s brilliant knock of 98, Daryl Mitchell’s half century and final flourish from Shivam Dube, took the team to 212 for 3 during the Indian Premier League 2024 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chennai on April 28 .

CSK’s captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ajinkya Rahane (9) started on a sedative note. Chennai Super Kings lost Rahane early and Daryl Mitchell joined the act. Both of them played brilliantly and scored a 107-run partnership for the second wicket. Mitchell proved the worth for his money and scored a brilliant 52.

After Mitchell’s wicket, Gaikwad (98) and Shivam Dube (39) continued the run-scoring spree and took CSK to a competitive overall. In the 20th over, Gaikwad was out for 98 but the crowd went berserk as MS Dhoni entered the arena.

The legendary keeper scored 5 in 2 balls.

For Sunrisers Hyderabad Buvneshwar Kumar (1 for 38), T. Natarajan (1 for 43) and Jaydev Unadkat (1 for 38) were the wicket-takers.

Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bowl in the Indian Premier League match against Chennai Super Kings in Chennai on April 28.

SRH dropped Mayank Markande for the match.
