BR-101 will be blocked to remove a trailer that fell into a cliff in Morro dos Cavalos

Km 234 of BR-101, in Palhoça, will be completely closed at 11:30 pm this Tuesday (30) to remove the trailer that fell from a cliff on Sunday night (28). The information was released by the Federal Highway Police (PRF) and the closure will be in both directions.

According to the PRF, the forecast is that there will be three hours of total blocking due to the complexity of the operation. Police ask drivers to avoid traveling on the stretch during these hours.

A pileup involving a car and a trailer left km 234 of BR-101, in Morro dos Cavalos, closed during the night of Sunday (29) and the early hours of Monday (29). According to the Santa Catarina Military Fire Department (CBMSC), after the collision, the truck fell down a ravine of around 100 meters.

According to Arteris Litoral Sul, the concessionaire responsible for the stretch, the accident left both lanes of the road in the south direction, towards Porto Alegre, blocked. Around 4am this Monday, they were released and traffic returned to normal. The peak congestion was four kilometers.

The driver of the truck was missing after leaving the cabin and getting lost in the woods. He was found on Monday morning by CBMSC teams and taken to the hospital.
