Vinhedo City Hall (SP) confirmed, this Tuesday (30), the first death from dengue in the city in nine years. With the new record, the region of Campinas (SP) adds 32 deaths by the disease in 2024 (see details below).

According to the municipal administration, the victim is a woman, 84 years old, resident of the Santa Claudina region. The patient had a history of diabetes and hypertension, and death was recorded on April 7th.

The city counts 1,915 confirmed cases of dengue this year, 1,868 of which were indigenous and 47 imported. Another seven patients are awaiting results, according to the city hall.

“It is extremely important that the population do not refuse entry to teams to eliminate breeding sitesas well as daily care on the part of residents to avoid stagnant water”, highlights the administration, in a note.
