Councilor offers solidarity to victims and demands investigation into accident at local event house

Colonel Kelson (PP) also highlighted the prompt care provided by several professionals who provided assistance to the injured

From the tribune of the João Pessoa City Council (CMJP), councilor Coronel Kelson (PP) showed solidarity with the victims of the accident that occurred last Sunday (28), at a local events venue. In the ordinary session this Tuesday (30), the parliamentarian also highlighted the prompt assistance provided by several professionals who provided assistance to the injured.

“How far are human beings capable of going to make a profit and make money, putting people’s lives at risk? People go to these places to have fun in peace and safety. This was not what happened on the 28th, at the Up Garden event house, when the structure of the house collapsed during a private party. The outcome of this accident was appalling, with several victims, fortunately, so far, none fatal”, highlighted the councilor.

On the occasion, the councilor highlighted the work of several professionals who participated in helping the victims. “It is important to highlight, in this tangle of regrettable things, the valuable work carried out by the Military Fire Department, Civil Defense, CREA, Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), Military Police, doctors, nurses, nursing assistants and stretcher bearers on duty together to the Senador Humberto Lucena Trauma Hospital, Civil Police, Scientific Police Institute, who performed exemplarily and competently in providing immediate assistance to the victims of the accident and in investigating the origin and cause of the accident, with promptness and professionalism”, he asserted.

According to the Colonel, questions about the regularization and permission for the event to occur and the effective regularization of the event house must be answered, as to date the whereabouts of those responsible for the company are unknown.

“I want to sympathize with the victimized people, their families and friends. As a representative of the people of Pessoa, I strongly appeal to the Secretary of State for Social Security and Defense for the most rigorous and rapid investigation of the facts of this accident,” he declared.
