UA man from Kannapolis, North Carolina, in the United States, won a jackpot of 837,187 dollars (about 784 thousand euros) after his sister had a dream where he found “a lot of gold”.
“In her dream, I found a lot of gold. I guess dreams come true,” David Atwell told NC Education Lottery.
Although the odds of matching the North Carolina Lottery’s Cash 5 jackpot numbers are 1 in 962,598, Atwell did it.
“I was shocked. At first, I saw that the ‘jackpot’ had gone down to 100 thousand dollars, so I knew someone had got it right. I didn’t think it was me”, said the ‘lucky man’.
Atwell also said that he couldn’t control his emotions when he found out he won the jackpot. “He was screaming so much he scared the cat,” said Cherie, his wife.
After claiming the prize, the man also considered that he had always had luck on his side. “My family always said I was the luckiest in the family,” he said.
Cash 5 is one of six lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of purchasing their tickets in-store, online through the lottery website or with the official NC Lottery mobile app.
