A crime shocked residents of Bultrins, in Olinda, Grande
Recife.
The nurse at the Pernambuco Cancer Hospital (HCP) Adalberval Prazeres Campos, known as Val, aged 57, was murdered inside his home, with stab wounds.
The crime took place on the May 1st holiday, Labor Day, at the House of Lords Building.
Hours later, his ex-partner, identified as Marcos Felipe do Carmo Silva, aged 27, was arrested and charged with murder.
The crime would have been triggered by a fight involving a sum of money.
How it was
According to a note sent to Diario de Pernambuco, this Thursday (2), the murder was registered by the Homicide Task Force/DHPP.
The nurse was murdered during an argument, followed by a physical fight, in his own apartment.
The suspect fled with a computer and other objects and also took the victim’s car.
A few hours later, Marcos Felipe was involved in two traffic accidents in the North Zone of Recife and continued his escape attempt until he was arrested by the Military Police.
According to the police, he was taken to the DHPP by a team from the 1st BPM.
“The victim’s objects were found with the suspect and he confessed to the crime,” said the Civil Police.
The case remains under investigation by the 9th Homicide Police Station – Olinda.
Cameras
On Wednesday morning, the Civil Police were at the scene and collected images from the building’s security cameras.
Forensic experts collected material to check whether it is possible to identify DNA at the crime scene.
On social media, the Pernambuco Nurses Union published a note lamenting the death.
“It is with deep regret that we received the news of the death of nurse Adalberval Prazeres Campos. A nurse at the Pernambuco Cancer Hospital, he performed his work with great dedication. We regret his early departure and extend our condolences to his family and friends”, said the note.
