Impressive video shows the force of impact in a runaway car accident in Blumenau

An accident caused by a runaway car on a busy street in Blumenau scared residents and traders this Thursday morning (2). The vehicle entered the wrong lane at high speed and hit another car that was parked on the sidewalk, dragging it a few meters due to the strong impact. The scene was recorded by a security camera (watch below).

According to the Military Fire Department, it was around 8:20 am when rescuers had to respond to the incident on Rua Frei Estanislau Schaette, in the Água Verde neighborhood. In the images, the white Palio appears from the wrong side of the road and crashes into another vehicle that was parked in front of a barbershop.

The car that was hit, a black Onyx, rolled at least three times until it was thrown onto the street next to where it was. The Palio, in turn, ends up being found further ahead, on the opposite side of the road, as shown in the photos taken by firefighters.

At the scene, the driver of the Palio, with Blumenau license plates, was removed from the vehicle unconscious and attended to by the Samu team. After his vital signs stabilized, the 54-year-old man was taken to Hospital Santa Isabel. There were no updates on his health status until the publication of this text.

According to firefighters, no one was inside the Ônix at the time of impact and no other injuries were reported in the accident.
