The president of the Supreme Court of Justice of Portugal will be on an official visit to Cape Verde from the 5th to the 11th of this month for a vast program of work and contacts with institutions and entities linked to Justice.
The visit of judge-adviser Henrique Araújo at the invitation of his Cape Verdean counterpart Benfeito Ramos, according to a press release from the Supreme Court of Justice, takes place under the sign of deepening cooperation relations between the two judicial institutions, in view of the challenges posed to justice in today’s global world.
On the other hand, it precedes the Forum of Presidents of the Supreme Courts of Justice of Portuguese-speaking Countries and Territories.
The official visit begins on Monday, 6th, with a meeting between the two institutions, at 10:00, at the Supreme Court of Justice, aiming to discuss the aforementioned topics.
This is followed by the signing of a cooperation protocol giving shape to a regulatory framework for “expedited and efficient” cooperation between the parties, with special emphasis on the aspects of interinstitutional dialogue and the exchange of experiences and documentation, especially in the areas of jurisprudence. and bibliographic.
On the same day, at 3:00 pm, the president of the Supreme Court of Justice of Portugal pays a visit to the president of the National Assembly, and at 4:00 pm, to the prime minister.
On Tuesday, 7th, from 9 am, he will be visiting the Minister of Justice, followed by the President of the Constitutional Court, the Attorney General of the Republic, and a meeting with his Cape Verdean counterpart.
The visit program also includes meetings with the national legal community, with particular emphasis on holding two conferences on “Fundamental Rights – a global perspective” to be given by the visitor, respectively in the cities of Praia and Mindelo.
