Stray Kids becomes the second K-pop boy group to receive more than one gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)

This week, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awarded the K-pop group Stray Kids with an official gold certificate, due to the 500,000 units sold of the range “MANIAC”, released in 2022. The song is the group’s second to be awarded, following the legacy of “GODS MENU”another track that received the certificate in 2020.

The single marks the group’s fourth overall certification through the RIAA, as it had already received two certifications in 2023 for the albums “(5-STAR)” It is “ROCK`STAR”. With this breakthrough, Stray Kids became the second K-pop boy group to receive more than one certification, following BTS. In addition to them, BLACKPINK AND TWICE also hold the feat.

Debuting on March 25, 2018, Stray Kids emerged through a survival program with the same name, made by the company JYP Entertainment, and has eight members: Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin and IN.
