Civil Police arrested on suspicion of assaulting woman

A civil police officer was arrested suspected of attacking his wife, in the Cinquentenário neighborhood, in the West Region of Belo Horizonte, in the early hours of this Tuesday (7).

According to the Military Police (PM) police report, André Luiz Correia Lelesaged 46, and the victim, aged 31, went to a mutual friend’s birthday, where they drank, and, upon leaving the event, They started an argument that went all the way home.

According to police records, they exchanged insults and André began physical aggression and headbutts in the mouth, hair pulling and kicking the victim. The document also reports that he threatened with death.

Also according to the BO, the Civil Police investigator locked himself in a room with the couple’s daughter and said that he would hand over the child only in the presence of someone.

The two were taken to a police station to provide clarification. The girl stayed with an aunt.

The assaulted woman provided medical care.

At 9:30 am, the State Secretariat for Public Security (Sejusp) reported that André Leles had not been admitted to prison.

The Civil Police said that the suspect was interviewed at the Duty Station Specialized in Women’s Assistance in BH and “released due to the absence of elements necessary for arrest” and “that the victim expressed disinterest in the protective measure and the facts are still being investigated.”
