A group of firefighters from Sergipe Fire Department, accompanied by a sniffer dog, was on the way to Rio Grande do Sul to assist in rescue operations and care for victims of floods caused by rain. However, when overtaking in the KM 660 of BR-116at city of Jequié (BA), an accident occurred and the vehicle overturned. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
4 FIREFIGHTERS – The Public Security Secretariat reported that the firefighters sent are experts in disaster situations and already have experience in similar events, as in Brumadinho (MG). Although nine military personnel were sent to assist with rescues in Rio Grande do Sul, the accident involved just four firefighters and a sniffer dog.
LAND TRAVEL – Also according to the secretariat, the land travel was necessary due to the amount of equipment used during the search operations. In addition to two vehicles, they are transporting rescue boats, drones and other equipment. The vehicle involved in the accident suffered damage, but other materials were not affected.
