At 17:57 (Lisbon time), the euro was still at 1.0770 dollars, when on Monday it was trading at 1.0774 dollars.
The European Central Bank (ECB) set the euro exchange rate at 1.0766 dollars.
During the session it was announced that the volume of retail trade grew 0.8% in March in the euro zone compared to the previous month, while in the EU it increased 1.2%, according to data released today by Eurostat.
In comparison with March 2023, the increase was 0.7% in the euro zone and 2% in the EU as a whole.
In Germany, exports increased 0.9% in March compared to the previous month and 1.2% year-on-year, while imports grew 0.3% compared to February and fell 3% compared to the same 2023 period.
At the monetary policy level, Australia’s central bank decided to leave interest rates unchanged, in line with what was expected by the markets.
