Traces of human blood were found in the barbecue where Edivan da Silva Almeida, 51, was burned by his wife in Toledo, in western Paraná. The crime would have occurred on February 16.
According to the Civil Police chief, Fábio Freire Quirino, the examination confirmed the presence of blood in points indicated by the person being investigated, Taciana Ferreira da Silva, 49 years old. The marks were mainly located in the bathroom where the man was cut.
The Scientific Police expert still needs to carry out an analysis of the human bones found in the barbecue. “He revealed to us that it would be very difficult to carry out the examination on this material without subsequently discarding this trace and, therefore, it would make the conclusion of the examination unfeasible”, he comments.
“In view of this, he found it more viable to carry out a subsequent comparison between the blood collected, the possible bones and the genetic material of one of the victim’s relatives, in this case a son of Edvan who lives in the state of Paraíba”, adds the delegate.
Connection to Samu
Taciana lied in her statement when she said she called Samu on the night of February 14th. According to the investigation, the call took place on the morning of February 15.
During the call, rescuers heard the victim having difficulty breathing. To the delegate, health professionals said that, as can be heard in the audio, the victim was in agony before having a cardiorespiratory arrest
The police chief said that Taciana Ferreira told rescuers that her husband was convulsing, but she did not continue the call and did not respond when EMS returned, leaving Edivan to agonize until his death.
With this evidence, the Civil Police included two qualifications against the accused: impossibility of defending the victim and death carried out by cruel means.

Rat poison
According to the Civil Police chief, Fábio Freire Quirino, the accused claims that she gave medicine to reverse the victim’s condition, however there is a suspicion that she also gave poison to her husband to ingest.
The hypothesis exists because investigators found rat poison in the sector of the company where the nursing technician worked.
Extramarital affair
Edivan da Silva Almeida was involved in an extramarital affair. In testimony, the woman said that she did not know of Taciana’s existence until the beginning of this year. In other words, she did not know that the victim was married.
The woman said she met the man in 2021, and the first face-to-face meeting between the two took place in Paraíba, in 2022. On that occasion, they traveled to Rio Grande do Norte.
Edivan asked his lover to go to the property in Paraíba so that a maintenance estimate could be drawn up, as he intended to return to the state and formalize the relationship.
On February 14, 2024, when calling Edivan, the lover discovered that the man was married after Taciana answered his cell phone.
The person under investigation identified herself as Edivan’s wife and lied that the man was hospitalized undergoing major surgery.
The Civil Police concluded, based on her lover’s testimony, that Taciana did not have an immediate reaction after discovering the betrayal, contrary to what the investigated woman said in her testimony.
