Murder of woman by asphyxiation and arrest of partner: police unravel femicide

The murder of a 44-year-old day laborer, who suffered suffocation inside her home, shocked the residents of Água Fria, in the North Zone of Recife.

Her 32-year-old partner was arrested hours later, when he tried to leave the city to go to the interior of Pernambuco.

What drew attention to this femicide was a post on social media.

The man confessed everything, in a text, and admitted that he did everything because of jealousy.

By means of a note, the Civil Police confirmed, this Wednesday (8), that they arrested the man for feminicide.

This type of crime is characterized when a woman is killed because of a gender issue.

“The Civil Police of Pernambuco informs that it arrested a 32-year-old man in flagrante delicto, through the 2nd DPH/DHPP, on May 7th. The perpetrator was charged with the completed feminicide of a 44-year-old woman, in a residence in Água Fria. After carrying out the appropriate procedures, the author was made available to the Court”, stated the note.

According to information, Ana Carla Cesar Melo was killed, by strangling, inside her house by Keiko Marques, on Monday (6).

The criminal would have used pillows to suffocate the woman.

He reportedly found the woman leaving the residence with another man.

This allegation is contained in the social media post.

Marques claims that he committed the crime because he was “very angry”.

He also said in this text that he would flee to Caruaru, in Agreste.

Prison

The police said that Marques was arrested in an operation integrated by teams from the 2nd DPH and 2nd DESEC, together with military police officers from the Malhas da Lei Program of the 13th BPM.

The capture took place in the center of Recife, after the police received information to carry out measures to arrest the perpetrator of the feminicide in the act.

The man was spotted by the team, who arrested him.

The police said he did not react and was taken to the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP), in Cordeiro, in the West Zone of the city.
