Felgueiras City Council begins today with the “Accountability in Parishes” project, a transparency effort to inform citizens about the allocation of municipal investments. The first initiative is scheduled for 8:30 pm at the headquarters of the Parish Council of Lordelo, where the president of the Chamber, Nuno Fonseca, will give a presentation.

The mayor states that, with this action, “The aim is to explain to the population, in a transparent way, where the money from the municipal budget is applied and to clarify everyone about the priorities, or the options taken by the municipal executive, most of which are taken in conjunction with the parish executives.”.

The schedule of visits will include discussions on planned municipal investments, transfers made, contracts and support granted to parish councils and local associations. It is also intended to highlight efforts to rehabilitate the road network, create and restore public spaces, in addition to developing basic infrastructure and attracting investors to the municipality.

As part of this initiative, the Mayor is expected to travel to the 32 parishes of the municipality, with the aim of presenting the Municipal Action Plan for each of them.
