Shane Duffy, defender and one of the most influential players in the Norwich squad, was arrested last Monday in Hethersett, on the outskirts of Norwich, after being involved in a collision involving two vehicles.

According to a Norfolk Police spokesman, in statements quoted by ‘The Sun’, “Police were called to Queen’s Road, Hethersett, at 9:05 pm on Monday, May 6, following reports of a collision between two vehicles”, and “emergency services attended the scene and a man, aged around 30, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.”

According to the spokesperson, there were no injuries reported in the accident. Still, Shane Duffy “was taken to the Wymondham Police Investigation Center for questioning.”

All this happened during Norwich’s week of preparation for the semi-final game of the promotion/remain playoff of the Championship, against Leeds United, a duel that is scheduled for 12 noon on Sunday (the 12th).
