The driver, who was alone in the truck, was not injured and refused assistance from the Fire Department. “We arrived at the scene and he was already out (of the vehicle). He is completely sorry, apparently he is drunk. He doesn’t have a license, so we’re waiting for the Military Police to report the incident. He refused medical attention, there are no injuries”, commented Sergeant Elieder, from the Fire Department.

The man without a National Driving License (CNH) remained at the scene for a few minutes after the accident. Quite shaken, the individual agreed to talk to the RICtv team and confessed that he was drunk.

“I could have hurt someone, God forbid. Imagine if I hurt someone? This car already has a fine, I lost the car, I could still go to prison. I drank, I was going home. I should have died, I’m against it, I did what I’m against. Since my wife died, four years ago, she has chipped away at everything, I’m living on appearance,” declared the driver of the truck.

However, a few moments after the outpouring of regret, the man decided to leave the scene of the accident and fled on foot along Estrada da Graciosa. The escape took place before the arrival of the Paraná Military Police (PMPR).

Despite fleeing the scene of the accident, the man was identified by the PMPR. The truck was seized.
