Marcão returned to Portugal for a few days of vacation and will be on today’s edition of the Onda Desportiva program. The former striker represented Varzim for three seasons and became known as ‘Bicho’. A born goalscorer, whenever Marcão scored a goal, Iran Costa’s music could be heard on the radio and also in the stadium’s sound system, as he recalled with emotion in the company of André Veloso, who conducted the interview. Marcão had two spells at Varzim. In the first, between 1998 and 2000, he scored another 50 goals in two seasons in the II League. The second spell took place in the 2002/2003 season, the last in which the Sea Wolves were in the I League, with the striker playing little in what was his last year as a player. The program will air today after nine pm, and is now available in the podcast section.
