The desperate search of mother of four Gabrielli Vicente, 24, from Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul, for her 6-month-old daughter has been going on for five days, since the boat that was rescuing the family capsized in the Harmonia neighborhood. It was last Saturday night (4). “I’ve been desperate without hearing from my daughter since the 4th,” she lamented. “Help me, may my Mother’s Day gift be Agnes on my lap,” she said. “Every minute that passes is torment. I’m devastated. I need news”, she lamented.

According to the family, the Civil Police is working on the investigation and collecting statements. This Thursday (10), Gabrielli said that the most recent information she received was that her daughter was in a hospital in the region. However, friends and family have contacted several hospitals without success.
In an interview with CRESCER, Gabrielli recalled the last time she saw her daughter: “I live on the second floor and, when we left, it was very dark and the water was already entering upstairs”, she recalls. A boat arrived to remove the mother and four children from the scene, but it ended up capsizing. “Our boat capsized and we all drowned. There were about 14 people — my four children fell into the water, including my 6-month-old twins. I tried to hold on to the boat with my fingernails so as not to sink with it, but we swallowed a lot of water with gasoline and engine oil. At the same time, three other boats arrived to help. One of my twins, Ágata, was caught unconscious, however, the firefighter revived her and rushed her to the hospital. They had also caught the two babies — at the time, I was screaming that there were two of them. We lost track of time and everything,” she said.
According to her mother, Ágata is hospitalized: “She’s in the ICU, she had three cardiac arrests.” Since then, Agnes, the other twin, has remained missing. “I screamed that there were twins, that there were two of them, and they said, right away, that they caught them both, they just don’t know where it went,” she said. “My 2-year-old boy, who barely speaks anything, learned to say ‘help’ because we were shouting so much,” she added.
At the beginning of the week, Gabrielli’s eldest daughter also had to be hospitalized. Contamination by flood water is suspected. “Since it happened, she started to have a fever that came and went and, in the early hours of the morning, a lot of blood started to come out of her nose, she stopped eating and didn’t even want to drink water,” she said. “I’m blaming myself so much. I blame myself for leaving them on other people’s laps on the boat, but I already had my 2-year-old boy in my arms. Now, I have my other two children here, I need to have strength for them too “, he lamented. “We lost our car, but what matters is my girl’s life, which no money can buy,” she concluded.
