Police rule out rape and confirm that father fell on 2-year-old daughter

Manaus/AM – The case of a two-year-old child who died after allegedly being raped by her father, a 52-year-old man, last Monday (6), in the Jorge Teixeira neighborhood, took a turn for the worse this Friday ( 10).

This is because the expert report ruled out any type of sexual violence and revealed that the baby’s death was accidental, as the mother had stated at the beginning.

According to delegate Joyce Coelho, the cause of death was mechanical asphyxiation caused by the man falling on the girl. At the time, the father reportedly felt ill and ended up collapsing on both the baby and the older 6-year-old daughter.

“This child did not suffer any type of sexual violence (…) She died by fatality, this father fell on her. He was a sick man who underwent hemodialysis three times a week and didn’t even have the strength to get a glass of water, and he was suffering from fainting spells. The father fell with his full weight on top of his two biological daughters, but he hurt the youngest one more.”

Joyce says that due to the weight of pressure on the thoracic region, the victim was crushed and suffocated in his own blood.

“The death was a fatality, it was accidental. He put a lot of weight on the child and a lot of blood came out because the biggest blow was to her frontal region. And as she was on the floor, the blood spread to her nose and all over her body and she died instantly.”

The delegate emphasizes that the other child’s testimony was also essential to clarify the case and exonerate the man, who died on the day of the incident as a result of a heart attack.

“We gave the 6-year-old child a specialized hearing, she is traumatized because she witnessed the death of her own father and sister and is also injured.”
