Surprise for fans of “The Bear”: fourth season was approved in secret – Series

After all, not one, but two seasons are in production of “The Bear”.

After starting out as a modest comedy drama set in a small sandwich restaurant with Carmen ‘Carmy’ Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri) and Richard ‘Richie’ Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) trying to transform into a top-tier establishment, the cult series created by Christopher Storer became a huge television phenomenon last year.

In November, the renewal of the acclaimed series for a third season was announced, but Deadline and Variety reported that the fourth season was quietly approved.

Cameras started working last month in Chicago and the seasons will be filmed next.

In February, John Landgraf, chairman of the FX channel, confirmed that the new episodes of the third season will arrive on the same day in June on the streaming service (Disney+ in Portugal).

Rumors about a fourth season of “The Bear” began circulating in the local Chicago press last week, generating speculation that it would be a farewell to the series, as happened with “Atlanta”, another acclaimed production on the FX channel.

But Deadline’s sources say a fifth season remains a possibility and one of the reasons for moving forward with a back-to-back shoot is to accommodate the schedules of not only the increasingly in-demand actors Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, but also from Christopher Storer himself, the creator of the series and writer of several of the episodes.
