In May, AXN channels carry with them the promise of well-orchestrated celebrations. The entire month celebrates the anniversary of Columbia Pictures, but also hosts the final season of “The Good Doctor” and the new “The Wrong Man”.
In the fifth month of 2024, AXN channels are preparing a series of surprises, including an extensive celebration of the 100th anniversary from one of the most famous film studios in the world: Columbia Pictures. Furthermore, the big highlights are the difficult goodbye to the phenomenon of “The Good Doctor” (on AXN) and the arrival of “The Wrong Man” to AXN White.
AXN IN MAY – THE GOOD DOCTOR COMES TO AN END (T7 – 8/05)
A 7th season of “The Good Doctor” arrives on AXN next day May 8th, at 10:50 pmbroadcast every Wednesday.
In January of this year, we found out that the seventh season from “The Good Doctor”, one of the biggest television hits in recent years, would mark the end of this story. The series follows the precocious surgeon Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore, “Bates Motel”/ “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”) throughout his internship and professionalization. With autism and Savant syndrome, the young doctor faces several professional and personal challenges at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital, but nothing that impedes his genius and personal growth.
At her side we have a versatile team of healthcare professionals, notably Fiona Gubelmann as Dr. Morgan Reznick, Will Yun Lee as Dr. Alex Park, Christina Chang as Dr. Audrey Lim and, of course, Richard Schiff as Dr. Aaron Glassman. The cast is completed by Paige Spara as Land DilalloShaun’s wife.
In this final year, we witness Shaun and Lea’s growth as they adapt to the challenges of their new motherhood/fatherhood. At the hospital, several acute cases present themselves to the team.
AXN – SPECIAL THE AGE OF SIMIANS (1/05)
At the Labor Day, May 1st holiday, AXN’s proposal, of course, is total relaxation. From 1:1 p.m.0, the popular saga “Planet of the Apes” is shown, so that viewers’ week is marked by adrenaline, action and escapism.

Confirmed: “The Good Doctor” is not the only major series premiere on AXN channels in May…
Another month, another Turkish television phenomenon in AXN White! This time the channel receives another great narrative co-starring Can Yaman, “The Wrong Man”.
The romantic comedy can be seen from the day May 14 and from Monday to Friday at AXN White, always at 9:25 p.m..
This is the story of Ezgi, a young woman who just wants to find the right man. On the other side we have Ozgur (Can Yaman’s character), a young man who doesn’t believe in love and who tends to jump from relationship to relationship. When their paths cross, everything promises to change!
WOW WOMEN SPECIAL – ON AXN WHITE ON SUNDAYS
You Sundays on AXN White, throughout the month of May, are reserved for a special initiative – “Wow Women, A Family Talks Initiative”.
The cinematographic program is repeated, every Sunday at 9:25 pmwith double cinema sessions, where comedy and romance always go hand in hand.
And what motivates this film cycle? The return of “Family Talks”, an initiative dedicated to empowering women. In this case, the campaign stands out “WOW women”which aims to inspire Portuguese women to feel fulfilled, regardless of their areas of intervention.

AXN MOVIES | COLUMBIA PICTURES TRIBUTE – ALL MONTH
One of the most emblematic film studios in existence (and still active) celebrates its centenary in 2024: Columbia Pictures. AXN Movies organizes several special cycles to mark this special date. Let’s get to know them:
- Columbia 100 Years – Every night, at 9:10 pm, in the month of May, a film produced by the studio is shown. The selection is made up of as many works as there are days of the month (31), and includes award-winning works such as “Marie Antoinette”, “Call me by Your Name”, “Across the Universe” or “An Extraordinary Friend”, among many other titles;
- Columbia 100 Years: Unforgettable Soundtracks – The month is not just a celebration of films, but of the various components that make them up. The beautiful soundtracks of Columbia Pictures films stand out. One for each Wednesday of the month, with “The Big Fish” (May 1), “Desperado” (May 8), “The Two Faces of the Mirror” (May 17), “Bram Stoker’s Dracula” ( May 22nd) and also “MIB – Men in Black” (closing on May 29th);
- Columbia 100 Years. Made by them – The studio celebration also includes a special cycle, Friday at 9:10 pm, throughout the month, the best cinema directed by women, with: “Julie & Julia” (May 3); “The Two Faces of the Mirror” (May 17), “Across the Universe” (May 24) and, finally, “Punisher 2 – Warzone” (on May 31st).
