Netflix released the first teaser trailer for the miniseries “Senna” this Tuesday, the eve of the 30th anniversary of Ayrton Senna’s death.

With Gabriel Leone as the protagonist (popularized by the soap opera “Verdades Secretas” and who has already explored the world of motorsport in the film “Ferrari”, by Michael Mann), the first images recreate the historic victory of the Formula 1 driver in the Brazilian Grand Prix in 1991 on the Interlagos circuit, the first in his hometown of São Paulo.

The six-episode miniseries inspired by the life, career and relationships of the greatest Brazilian pilot of all time will arrive on the platform later this year.

Winner of 41 Formula 1 Grand Prix and three times world champion, Senna stood out on the track due to his aggressiveness and ability to get the best out of the car.

The story begins in 1981, when he made his debut, at the age of 20, in Formula Ford, considered at the time the first step towards reaching Formula 1, and will go on until his fatal accident at the San Marino Grand Prix, in Imola, 1 May 1994.

The cast also highlights Kaya Scodelario, who has just had an impact on “The Gentlemen”, another Netflix series, and whose mother is Brazilian.

From Brazilian producer Gullane and created by Vicente Amorim and Julia Rezende, the miniseries in English and Portuguese had the active support of the driver’s family, who, 30 years after his death, continues to be an icon for motorsport fans, who made a mark with his charisma and personality.
