MAriana Derderián is in mourning. The actress who gave life to the protagonist of the Chilean version of the series ‘Floribella’ lost her six-year-old son in a house fire, which occurred in the early hours of yesterday, May 9th.
Mariana, 44 years old, was at home with her two children when she noticed the smoke, around 2 am. She managed to get her daughter to safety, but was unable to enter her son’s room, who was trapped inside, according to the newspaper La Vanguardia.
Mariana Derderián immediately contacted her ex-partner, who entered the house to try to save the child. He ended up suffering serious burns and is hospitalized in an induced coma, adds the same newspaper.
The artist was married to journalist Francisco Aravena, with whom she had two children: Leticia, aged nine, and Pedro, the six-year-old boy who did not survive the fire.
