“DI decided to increase workers’ minimum income to 130 dollars, indexed [ao valor cambial do dólar]”, announced Nicolás Maduro.

The announcement was made in Bicentenario Square, at the Miraflores presidential palace, in Caracas, as part of the Labor Day celebrations, on the day that thousands of Chavistas and opponents took to the streets of the capital, some to demand salary increases and others denouncing that survive on “poverty wages”.

“That it has an impact [positivo] increasing capacity of workers, which means that, this year, between January and May, we had an 86% increase in the minimum wage”, said Nicolás Maduro.

On January 15, Nicolás Maduro increased the minimum wage for Venezuelan public employees to 100 dollars a month (93.30 euros).

The announcement was made in the National Assembly during the annual presentation of “memory and accounts” corresponding to the year 2023.

Nicolás Maduro recalled that in 2022 he created an economic war bonus of 40 dollars (37.33 euros), specifying that this bonus will now have the value of 60 dollars (56.00 euros) and that the food allowance will be 40 dollars (37.33 euros).
