“The enemy used 76 means of air attack, including 55 missiles and 21 attack drones,” the air force said on social media, adding that the air defense systems intercepted 39 missiles and 20 drones.

According to the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, the Russian attack that took place last morning affected seven regions of Ukraine.

The attacks also damaged the railway station and railway tracks in the city of Kherson, on the banks of the Dnieper River in Russian-controlled territory, and injured two people in Brovary, near Kiev.

Russia has consistently targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

In a publication spread across social media, Zelensky said that Wednesday’s attacks occurred at a time when Ukraine marks the end of European fighting in the Second World War (1939-1945).

”The whole world must clearly understand who is who; the whole world has no right to give Nazism another chance”, accused Zelensky.

Ukrainian power grid operator Ukrenergo reported that installations were hit in the regions of Vinnytsia, Zaporijia, Kirovohrad, Poltava and Ivano-Frankivsk.

According to regional governor Maksym Kozytskyi, two energy facilities were hit in the Lviv region, in the far west of the country and far from frontline fighting.
