UA young man met his better half through social media, got married and only later realized that the woman was, after all, a man.
The case took place in Indonesia and is told by the protagonist himself under the name AK. He says, quoted by 20 minutes, that he met his partner online, where they created the foundations for their relationship.
The two met in person before getting married and although AK admitted that his girlfriend had some peculiar characteristics, he never suspected that she was hiding something. The woman, for example, almost always appeared with a veil on her face, something that the man assumed was a result of her shyness.
Thus, AK ended up asking his partner to marry him. This accepted but imposed some rules. Among them, she asked that the marriage not be registered, since her mother had died and she did not know the whereabouts of her father, a situation that made her sad because she had no one to invite to the party. And she asked the man to stay away from her family.
It was this last condition that led AK’s family to become suspicious of what was happening and to want to investigate the past of the new member of the family, having realized that this, after all, presented itself as a false entity and was, at the end of After all, a man.
He was arrested and admitted to court that his objective was to extort money from his partner. The suspect was charged and could serve a four-year prison sentence for the crime.
